Dear West Valley staff, students, and families:
In a press release issued today, February 28th, Governor Inslee announced a change to the date the statewide indoor mask mandate will lift. Instead of March 21, the statewide mandate – including in schools and childcare facilities – will lift after 11:59 pm on March 11. This change is in alignment with Oregon and California due to declining case rates and hospitalizations across the west.
These West Valley COVID protocols will be modified as a result of today’s announcement:
- Beginning Saturday, March 12, in alignment with state guidelines, masks will become optional for everyone inside all school buildings and on school buses, regardless of vaccination status.
As a reminder, masks are still required for all students, staff, and visitors in our school buildings by order of the Governor until the end of the day on March 11 at 11:59 pm.
