Back to School Update

WVSD will be starting school 100% online on September 9th due to high COVID-19 infection rates in Spokane County.  As risk levels change we will begin to phase in onsite learning starting with our youngest students.  Families will also have the option to remain 100% online once onsite learning begins.  Back to School information has been mailed to all families and additional information is available in the links below.

Please access the following information from our latest Community Connections Back to School Plan for details explaining the school models, school schedules and other pertinent information.

While this year looks and feels different, the staff at Pasadena look forward to connecting with our families and students once again!  We have been working hard to prepare our staff to ensure your child’s experience is the best it can be.  We are committed to providing your child a positive, supportive, and standards based education virtually, and as we transition to face to face instruction when possible.  We are sending a letter out today informing you or your child’s classroom assignment for the 2020 - 2021 school year.  A great deal of time and energy goes into making groups that are compatible, balanced, and a best fit for all of our students.  We have an amazing staff at Pasadena!

Back to School Launch Meetings: As many of you may already know from the District Community Connection Zoom meetings, September 9th - 11th will be devoted to Back to School Launch meetings, at each school, to ensure we get off to a great start.  These launch meetings will allow for you and your student(s) to meet their teacher(s), in an environment that is safe following all guidance from the Department of Health, and the Spokane Regional Health District. You will have the opportunity to pick-up schedules, Chromebooks for each student, technology login information, and a few school supplies. Your teacher will also go over their online learning model, grading, and daily attendance requirements.  To schedule a date and time, you can simply login to your Skyward account and sign-up the same way you have done for conferences. We will communicate with you next week when the scheduling window is open in Skyward and include instructions on how to schedule your appointment(s).  We will also offer Virtual meetings for those that can not attend in person, if necessary, and arrange for pick-up of materials and technology.

School Supplies: Our amazing PTO purchased the majority of the school supplies again this year. We will provide some of these to each student during the Back-To-School Launch meetings and save the remaining supplies for your students when we return to in-person learning. We can’t thank them enough for showing this amazing support to our Pasadena families!

Please feel free to reach out should you have questions or need assistance. Our office is now open from 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM.  We will communicate updates via email and on our school website (www.pasadena.wvsd.org) under the News and Announcements section.

Thank you and enjoy the rest of your summer!
